E-commerce and E-business

The terms electronic commerce (e-commerce) and electronic business (e-business) are often used interchangeably, but there’s a difference. E-commerce covers the process of buying and selling goods and services over the Internet. E-commerce is only a part of e-business. E-business includes all aspects of a business like marketing, product design, supply management, etc. E-business involves the whole business cycle from production, procurement, distribution, sales, payment, fulfillment, restocking and marketing. It can involve coordinating the website front- and back-end systems and coordinating e-commerce with customer relationships, and supply-chain management. E-business can also involve managing business partners and suppliers, and integrating new technologies and business processes.
