Not having seen other versions, I found The Tunnel gripping and thrilling throughout. Strong characters and good pacing help us believe the hyperreal serial killer plot. Mixing French and English spoken back and forth across the Chunnel adds realism to this submersive police procedural drama. Update a few weeks later: Having watched it first, I prefer "The Tunnel" series (set in UK and France, spoken in English and French, with subtitles), which is a remake of "Bron/The Bridge" (which is spoken entirety in Swedish and Danish, which are difficult to tell apart unless you speak one of those languages). The two plots are almost identical, so watching one removes the impact of the other. Both versions are excellent, although we stopped watching "The Bridge" after 2 episodes because it precisely mirrored plot from the "The Tunnel". A good American-Mexican version is also available, but I instead recommend "The Tunnel" which is more exotic to American viewers, set in the impressive Eurotunnel, and interesting tension is portrayed between the English and French sides.
