A physician's worst nightmare comes true when his child dies from eating tainted meat in a fast food restaurant. Vowing that this will never happen again, the physician investigates the meat industry supplying the fast food chain and uncovers unethical cover-ups between meat producers and governments sworn to monitor food safety standards. While Cook's ability to translate science into readable fiction is far less effective than someone like Michael Crichton - this is a fast, well reviewed read for lovers of medical fiction.
