Most historical spy romance novels are light on the spying, heavy on the ballgowns. Spymaster’s lady is very different. Annique Villiers is akin to Jason Bourne ala Bourne Identity. It flows like a real spy novel should. She’s clever and can take care of herself as she tries to get important information from France to England while being tracked down by all opponents to the game that is political intrigue. Staff picks 2010.
