I liked this book for what it was - an easy, no-brainer, summer read. I didn't read too much into it; however, I was annoyed by a few things, mostly the divorce. I have a hard time believing that a happy, well-matched couple would separate and divorce so quickly and without any attempts at reconciliation or mitigation. Also, another annoyance is the constant name dropping, which is why I tend to stay away from "chick lit". Her Burberry trench, her Cartier watch, dinner at Babbo, new Manolos, etc. It just gets tired after a while. Not every woman is so caught up in material things and the one character in the novel who seems not to care about labels, Daphne, is labelled as simple and dowdy. Give me a break! It's unbelieveable and shallow.
