Imagine a fantasy novel with all the fantastic elements fantasy is known for, but written in Butcher's thriller-paced prose. Light on characterisation, even lighter on description, Butcher doesn't let much get in the way of his plot. Which is pretty standard. You know: save the kingdom, protect the King, that sort of thing. There are a few moments where some serious suspension of disbelief are needed. Fidelias' motives are perhaps the worst offender. It's neato. Check it out.
