Add a CommentI LOVE this series! I love how the author includes all of the fairy tales and I love how descriptive he is! I love (in the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th books) that he puts a little or a lot (depends on which book you are reading) of love in it. I love all of the adventure there is and I would recommend this series to ANYONE!
The Enchantress Returns is the second book in the Land of Stories series. The Land of Stories has been one of my favorite series for years. While I wouldn’t recommend it to teens in general, it would be good for thirteen and fourteen year olds. This book is great. It focuses more on how fairy tale characters react to new villains. That is more interesting to read about than just their happily ever afters. I still loved reading about that in the first book but this book shows you more about the fairy tale characters then the first one. I would absolutely recommend this book. 4/5 stars

When the twins and their friends join worlds formed by Conner 's imagination, discovering allies that no one else could ever think of, the race begins to put an end to the reign of terror of the Masked Man. The Author's Odyssey kept me hooked until the end, it was a very good and interesting reading, the storey was beautifully written in a clear style and tone and descriptive efficiency that didn't slow down the pace. The Odyssey of the Author was original and well written. An outstanding addition to thisAn Author's Odyssey had standard tropes delivered with a smooth writing style. I recommend this book to anyone because it is a joy to read. 4/5 stars

“An Author’s Odyssey”, Book #5 of the “Land of Stories” series, written by Chris Colfer, is where the spotlight is finally on Connor. In an attempt to save both worlds, Alex and Connor set out on a journey to recruit characters from Connor’s stories to fight against the army of the masked man. I can’t believe the turn that this story has taken. Alex and Connor have gone from being ordinary sixth graders to potential saviours of both the Land of Stories as well as Earth, and that is what I personally enjoy in this series. I love books that have twists and cliffhangers such as the ones in this series because that is what makes a story entertaining and not boring to read, which is why I would definitely recommend this series to all teens. Yes this series is quite long, but it is all worth it in the end! I give this book a 4.5 out of 5.

“The Enchantress Returns”, Book #2 of the “Land of Stories” series, written by Chris Colfer, is just as interesting as the first book in this series, titled “The Wishing Spell”. After reading a lot of different book series, I have observed that most series start out strong with an outstanding first book, but then fail to make their second book match that same level, however this series does not follow that same trend because “The Enchantress Returns” has certainly lived up to the expectations that readers had set after reading “The Wishing Spell”. If you have not read “The Wishing Spell” prior to this book then I suggest that you do because this series needs to be read in order for you to understand the story. For anyone who has read “The Wishing Spell”, I would definitely recommend this book to you because this book gives you the opportunity to revisit the world of your favourite childhood characters in a much less childish way. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and I hope you enjoy this book just as much as I do! I give this book a 4.5 out of 5.

I loved this book like all the others because I felt the same way when my mom died just like the twins felt I also liked the fact that no person from Chris Colfer's books are the same which makes it more magical. He's a amazing author hopefully they make a Land Of Stories Movie which would be great!!!!!!!!!!!
This was the best book I have ever read in my life! I’ve read it three times and I am going to read it a fourth. It made me adventurous, and want to go to the Fairy Tale World like in all our childhood stories. I love all 6 books but this book is definitely my favorite one out of the series. Highly, highly recommend!!
In the next Land of Stories book, we get to experience characters and stories created by Conner as the twins and their friends attempt to assemble an army of their own to fight Lloyd.
This intense story is going to have you excited for the finale with it’s cliff-hanging ending.
Alex and Conner Bailey have a hunch that the Masked Man is their dead father. When Alex tries to make finding the Masked Man a priority for the fairy council, she is kicked out. The twins go on an adventure beyond the kingdoms, through tales which they have never been in before.
This captivating book shows our favorite twin being separated from each other and having to go on their own paths. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.
When Alex and Conner Bailey’s mother mysteriously vanishes, they must set out on another quest in the Otherworld.
This novel is enjoyable and takes us deeper into the world that we know and love. As you read this book, you will realize that The Wishing Spell was just the beginning...
“Beyond the Kingdoms”, Book #4 of the “Land of Stories” series, written by Chris Colfer, continues following Alex and Conner Bailey through the Land of Stories. I love the twists and cliffhangers in this book because it just adds to the mystery that is already there. I admire Alex’s determination because even when she is not being supported from her community and when she is facing her own personal problems and mysteries, she still is determined to do something kind for others. The author has done an amazing job crafting already developed characters into characters that people of a whole different age group would be interested in. What I mean by this is that a lot of teens are falling in love with this series which is full of fairytale characters. I also love how this book is not geared towards a certain gender or group of people, so if you are looking for a new read then I would definitely recommend this series to you! I rate this book a 4.5 out of 5 stars. @Rose of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
The fourth book in Chris Colfer’s The Land of Stories series is called Beyond The Kingdom. It takes twins Alex and Conner beyond the fairy kingdom into the realm of classic children’s literary worlds. Beyond the Kingdoms is a funny and moving addition to Colfer’s magical tale, which sees the twins maturing into independent teenagers without the guidance of their fairy godmother. With Robin Hood, Peter Pan, and the Tin Man thrown into the mix, it's a whirlwind adventure! There are dangerous situations and villains around every topsy turvy corner, and the stakes are raised to the most dangerous battle yet. This book focuses quite heavily on Alex as the responsibility of being the new fairy godmother gets to her. Many readers will be able to relate to the various emotions described by the author in this book. I would recommend this book for readers aged 10+. 4.2/5 stars

While this is a very good sequel to Wishing Spell I have to admit it still wasn’t great. I found the plot in this novel was more or less the same as Wishing Spell and it was a little disappointing not to get anything that was completely new. Despite that fact, Chris Colfer still delivers an exciting and worth reading story since it still remains entertaining. I suppose my favorite part was reading what the characters were up to now since their last visit to the Land of Stories. If you liked the first novel then I recommend reading this one just to keep up with the story. The ending did however have me on the edge of my seat so I can say its worth reading till the end. 2/5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Enchantress Returns by Chris Colfer. It is the second book in his series called The Land of Stories. This book begins with the main characters back home from the Land of Stories following the adventures in The Wishing Spell. Conner and Alex Bailey, now 13 years old, often miss their fairy-tale-character companions and long to return. When their mother suddenly disappears, they soon learn that she's been taken to the fairytale world by an enchantress who seems bent on destroying everything in her path. I thoroughly enjoyed the second book in the Land of Stories series as it was as descriptive, fast paced and as entertaining as ever. The reading level was good for ages 9+ and the concepts were easy to follow. 3.8/5 stars
