I read this book to help me understand some of the cultural background and influences on my South Korean daughter-in-law as I prepared for a trip to that country. The focus is on a young Canadianized woman’s struggle with her Korean parents’ “old ways”, so it was very insightful for me. A nice bonus was that the story had several plot threads that kept it moving and vivid description of Korean cultural details.
