Well worth watching! Superb scenery & Canadiana everywhere!
Look for the Gord Downie scene!

Nice movie about traveling Canada. A bit slow-moving and nostalgic, but I enjoyed it. The acting was pretty good and the people seemed reasonably normal for a movie made in Canada. I had to laugh at all the little credit icons at the end by "Film Canada grants", "Ontario film board grants"...... It went on and on. Such is the way it is to make a film in Canada about Canada.

Looking for some weekend entertainment, and fueled by my stirring wanderlust and a crazy idea to get a motorcycle and go on tour, I searched the library catalogue for motorcycle and then selected the movie format and came across this title. Oh, for sure it has some sap and cliches, but I was able to ignore my grumpus and just enjoy. I thought it was a well done Canadian road trip film with some good music that explored good topics. Nothing in life is perfect - kinda the point of the film...

Horrible movie. Corny. Depthless. Cheezy. And he just had to meet a shaman with a drum in the redwood forests of BC.
The voiceover narration is so annoying, both the content of what he was saying as well as his voice. I had to fast forward that voiceover most of the time.
It was like watching a university student's film class movie. I can see similar scenery clips on

Fairly harmless road trip movie. The lead character and the supporting cast are very mellow ( it is Canadian), so extreme drama is not the focus here. Beautiful vistas and great music do make this very watchable. The Norton motorcycle ridden in this movie makes it more worthwhile for me.

Sad and funny, truly Canadian. Very well done movie. The story of a man's journey across Canada from Toronto to Tofino as he searches his innermost feelings about his fiancée and his own life. Excellent movie.

an existential journey, light, with especially Canadian content

The Canadian version of What If You Had Cancer. This scenic character-rich road trip film is uneven,.. but sometimes charming, and oft times very splendid. (4-22-14: 0 ;4-23: 10 ;4-25: 14)

This is not a perfect movie, I found the narration quite irritating and superfluous, and some of the whimsical moments felt contrived, but still, I very much enjoyed it. The quest of the main character was touching and I liked that he was not portrayed as morally irreproachable. Great scenes from all over the country as well.

I couldn't make myself stay awake for the whole movie. Incredibly boring, one note performance by the lead actor, and also featuring my most recent cinematic pet peeve, the man with the perpetual quarter inch of stubble on his face. This guy wakes up with it, has lunch with it, checks into a motel with it, and it never gets any longer..... The fact that I was distracted by this is indicative of how little else I found to engage my interest.

(Ben has just listened to a pointless voicemail from Samantha about an article on a golfer) Narrator (sarcastically): "...If Ben's lifetime could be coffee and newspapers with Samantha, existence would be bliss."
