"From her years as a presidential press secretary to her debates with colleagues on Fox News' The Five, Dana Perino reveals the lessons she's learned that have guided her through life, including stories from behind the scenes at the White House with President George W. Bush that the cameras never captured. Thoughtful, inspiring and often surprising, AND THE GOOD NEWS IS... traces Dana's unlikely journey through politics, the White House, and television. She has an uncanny ability for knowing what to sayand how best to say it. A recurring theme in AND THE GOOD NEWS that planning has never worked for Dana; every time she has made a plan, something unexpected-and often better-has happened. AND THE GOOD NEWS IS... blends a candid self-portrait with advice for allowing one's very best personality traits to shine through, emphasizing that dignity and civility are choices we make for ourselves. As a Democrat I tried to read this without thinking Democrat or Republican but it was just a little too much "George Bush" was a wonderful wonderful man for me. Also, too much about how the Republican agenda is for the middle class and how wise and warm Dick Cheney is. I am sure Dana Perino meant well.

Dana Perino is an experienced, fresh voice for free and independent thinking. She has first hand experience in a presidential administration, and she just tells it like she sees it, without getting nasty or mean. She knows how to stay positive, yet realized the issues that are going on in America today. Recommend!

This was in the tier, normally not worthy of comment, easily skimmable. Foxzoid describes all the brilliance learned from a guy who, never went through officers' training, yet was listed as an officer in the Air National Guard [ANG]; never went to flight school, yet was listed as a pilot in ANG [in fact, he seriously flunked the USAF pilots' aptitude test]; and was given to utter idiotic statements!
