Vulvus, Viago, and Deacon are vampires who live here, among us. They are real vampires; undead, immortal creatures who stalk the night and search for human blood, preferably virgins. Witness the many horrid, abominable aspects of vampire life, such as hunting and feeding, vampire rivalry and fighting with werewolves, as well as normal night to night aspects that make them not so different from us like, keeping the flat clean, jobs, shopping, meeting people and trying to fit in.

There is such a thing as a running gag, but the longer a gag runs, the less funny it tends to be. This would have made a nice 10 minute short humor segment, but a full blown movie? Nope! Just to long and this subject to oozing more boredom than gore OR laughs.

This mockumentary is brilliant but not for everyone it seems from the number of low reviews.

Lame attempt to make a mockumentary a la Spinal Tap but with vampires- but the laughs are few and far between. Made by one of the creators of Flight of the Conchords- there seem to be a lot of online troll heroes trying to make out like this is a laugh a minute romp- it isn't- I laughed three times, which is pretty low for a comedy- and yes I " understand " dry humour- when it's funny. The premise is just stretched too thin for the movie to be truly successful.

I don't know- I wasn't too fussed by this movie. It has a pretty basic premise-Spinal Tap with vampires instead of musicians- but it really didn't have a lot of laughs, aside from a couple here and there. I guess my expectations were too high with one of the creators of Flight of the Conchords on board ( now there was a funny show ).

Hilarious mocumentary about vampire flatmates. I am so glad this exists!

A surprisingly hilarious mocumentary about vampires living together as roommates in New Zealand. Fans of Flight of the Conchords will recognize some familiar faces!

Just when I thought I was sick to death of vampires, along comes a fun group of roommates in Wellington, New Zealand: Vulvus, Viago, and Deacon (and my favorite, Petyr, who is exempt from attending roommate meetings because he is 8,000 years old.) A documentary film crew follows the vampires as they talk about long lost loves, play music, get dressed for clubbing, work through vampire rivalries and argue about kitchen duties.

For a comedy this really isn't that funny- I laughed three times total- three times- that barely qualifies the movie as a comedy, let alone a good one. I can't believe how overrated this movie is- it's really not that great.

How are these funny or witty?
Vamp A: I went in to the lounge the other day and there was blood all over my nice antique couch.
Vamp B: Which one, the red one?
Vamp A: Well, it's red now, yeah. If you're going to eat a victim on my nice clean couch put down some newspaper on the floor and some towels. It's not hard to do.
Vamp B: We're vampires! We don't put down towels.
Vamp A: Some vampires do.
Vamp B: Well, not serious ones!
===
Vamp X: Yes, some of our clothes are from victims. We might bite someone and then... you think, 'ooh, those are some nice pants!'
===
Vamp X: Just pay attention. Pay attention. Laugh with the group. You will not remember the last hour and a half, of what you have just seen. You will forget... the contents of this movie.
