While it did have some good points, this sequel is not as good as its 2012 predecessor, starring Daniel Radcliffe, which is itself far less effective than the 1989 TV movie. (Incidentally the protagonist in the last-mentioned was played by Adrian Rawlins, who features as the village doctor in TWiB 2).

An inferior sequel to the first film, based on the novel. During the Second World War, a group of evacuee children end up with their caretakers at the same haunted house, where time has not dulled the malevolence of the resident ghost (she has issues). The movie plays off some of the same scares as the original, but still the impression is left: was this really a required sequel? That said, however, the cast is better than the writing deserves.
