Carlos Panterra is looking for a mate, a woman who will love and care for the young orphans he's recently taken under his wing (or paw, as the case may be). When the shape shifter spies the beautiful Caitlyn, it's like sunshine amidst the darkness. At last, he's found the perfect woman, except Caityn Whelan is mortal. Worse, her father is the head of a CIA agency bent on hunting the undead. Still, Caitlyn knows that Carlos is the man for her, shape shifter or not. So she jumps at the chance when her sister offers her a job to work with him, determined to show Carlos their attraction is more than just animal magnetism.

Not as good as the other books in the series but not horrible.

Fast-paced, entertaining and the rapport - as well as smouldering attraction - between Carlos and Caitlyn was written wonderfully. You'll just fall in love with both lead characters - as well as the other supporting character.

I've read every book in this series and i have to say that the series is good- i dont usually like series that focus on diifferent characters every book but i grew to like this one better the more of them i read- not as good as Kresley cole's writing but still good-

Loved it. Love the entire series. Can't get enough of Kerrelyn Sparks' Love at Stake series - so well written, and characters are so likable - makes you want to be part of their world. A definate must read for fans of the series. Can't wait for the next book: Vampire Mine. Just wish my local library owned the first few books in the series.
