Add a CommentBased on the 2004 novel L'Idole, this Kafka-esque film follows the sudden celebrity and equally rapid downfall of a nobody. The plot is a bit disjointed so the real reason behind it all is implied but not clearly stated. The premise of instant fame is even more plausible today unfortunately. One scene with nudity. Unless you hated this film, you might also like Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.
So this guy is famous and he doesn't know why. Nobody tells him. There's a general sense of urgency to the soundtrack, yet nothing happens. That's the movie. If there's a point to the movie it could have been done better.
Don't waste your time.
Pretentious, simplistic and very repetitive (think the scream scene as one of many examples). Too bad, seemed like a solid take on 'The Truman Show' but failed terribly for me.
Worth watching. Intelligent and different.
This is a real sleeper. Boring at times but worth it for the profound messages about the present state of world thinking and mass consciousness.
