GOOD 2012 Barbra Streisand film, a bit light but fun to see mature Barbra in this mother and son family comedy. Seth Rogen was good, too.

I kind of liked it as it included a fun geographical tour of the U.S. with food eating contests and cowboys. Streisand loves psychology I think as per her other movies (Prince of Tides) and this is full of that about mothers and sons.

This movie relied on stereotypes, overused clichés and a very familiar story line. A great talent like Barbra Streisand deserves better than this.

Talented actors could not save this film.

The movie is slow and pointless. There are a few funny parts, so that is why I gave it one star.

A polite light comedy. Entertaining enough but nothing special.

Barbra Streisand (the girl next door who made good) is the yang to Woody Allen's ying. She should be his mother.
Movie starts slow. The acting is totally credible, as is the plot. We get to know the characters slowly. They have got some good points and some not so good. The turning point comes very naturally. After that the viewing pleasure meter starts rising. The theme is that we are all incomplete and need one another, whether we know it or not. And sometimes we get stuck in the past. You finish the film, feeling that you spent some time with a real family. They are nice folks. Meh!
