An exceptionally good read. I highly encourage everyone to read this book . As I grow older, I totally agree that happiness is from within.

I benefited from reading the book. I'd place it in the same category as books by J. Haidt and M. Seligman and the positive psychology crowd. Her writing stands up with theirs, and is just as helpful.

This book has the potential to leave you a much more content - and whole - person after its perusal. As the author notes, not all chapters are applicable. But the ones that are may be life altering. Clear, helpful, and specific suggestions provide a good starting place for change.

I agree with the earlier comments. I've chosen to read it as I would a magazine. She would have benefited from a coauthor. If she had one, she wasn't served well. Basic, pedestrian.

I am a big fan of Sonja Lyubomirsky. Her writings on Happiness, and Positive Psychology are exceptional. The Myths of Happiness does a good job of breaking out serious life events into different chapters. That way someone interested in how to remain happy despite feeling they are getting down because they do not have children, for example. This approach is good for those seeking to hone in on what they need to rebound, or maintain a sense of positive feelings.
