From Library Staff

Venker and Schlafly provide a new view of women in America, one that runs counter to feminism. Their book demonstrates that conservative women are, in fact, the most liberated women in America and the folks to whom young people should be turning for advice.

It seems a cognitive dissonance for religious conservative women to writing books on anything other than Good Housekeeping, involving themselves in political leadership, running for political office, becoming judges, etc.

Curious and interesting. I'd say this opinion on feminism was way too far to the right for me, I much prefer the moderate view. And the book is most definitely biased, and often comes across as defensive and defiant.
But I liked reading about the complete opposite view of what is typically portrayed in the media. Getting that other side of the story makes me better informed. Something I can't ever be against.

Are you kidding me? Their should be less women in colleges? Women do better by playing on Patriarchal stereotypes?
Listen, if you read this book and decide you are not a feminist than you should also consider FOX news a reliable news source. Both this book and FOX news are not considered credible in academia for good reason: they are fabricated.
Schlafly thinks women should just do more of what they are told.
If you think reading this before going to University is going to help you, well, it will help you to fail miserably.
You deserve better than this diatribe.

Schlafly? I remember her. For a brief moment she appeared to be sane when she railed against the offshoring of American jobs. Then the Republican leadership ordered her to shut up and the spineless wimp, Phyllis Schlafly, meekly obeyed. America needs a nation of strong women, not more Schlaflys!

I would have considered myself a feminist before I read this book, now I do not. It was that life-changing for me to read. I think every woman and even some men need to read it. A challenging read, made me question all I knew and was told and what I assumed about the women's movement.

This is a book every young woman in college should read. I'd suggest they read it before college as the feminist literature dominates the campus. This book exposes the foundational lies of modern feminism from it's origins to today.

I wish this book would have been based more on facts and statistics, rather than outdated research and opinions. I read this hoping to like it, but it was so narrow minded and anti progress that I could hardly chew they is. Suzanne Venker is apparently an extremely jaded women who lives in an outdated world, and lashed out at any new information.
