The ink and graphite drawings are okay, but the characters don't have any expression on their faces. The dialogue is dull, and storytelling just okay. Small thin type is very hard to read.
I didn't know this was about the Beatles when I started reading this.
I enjoyed this story mainly for the early 60s time period it presents.
Baby's in Black tells a side of the Beatles' history that rarely is heard, making it a must-read for any fan.

An intimate slice of 1960s pop culture history.
This is a great graphic novel, although if you don't know much about the Beatles, it may be confusing. It's a cool perspective, because it shows the Beatles in their early years, when they were playing clubs in Germany. I didn't know much about Stuart Sutcliffe and Astrid Kirchherr, so that was an interesting aspect as well to hear about them. The end came to me as quite a surprise because of that.
Great story for the Beatles' fan. Although you know how it ends, you still can't help the sadness.
