With a cast like this, I was expecting so much more, but the writing just isn't up to their talents. If you want to see the likes of Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Chris O'Dowd, and Maya Rudolph and have a real belly laugh, you'd be better off watching 'Bridesmaids' again.

It was a good representation of relationships and makes you wonder if in real life a "set up" like two single friends raising a child together would work.

I liked this movie a lot, and it had me crying at the end all up until the last things he says to her - those things are not romantic pleading like that and using those words - to me are things she wouldnt want to hear - make love - seems more like her type of phrase. And I like that not everyone's relationships stayed all prefect and shiney.

This one is high in my recommendation list. The story is VERY engaging and the characters are so REAL that I totally believe in. It was a bit average in the beginning 10 minutes, then the story was unfolded in 5 different dimensions .... you feel like it is happening among your best friends and closest neighbours. Something really stuck in my throat in the end. This is an exceptional movie every generation should watch.

I think it was a ok movie but it really hit home because my best friend is gay. We met in high school and use to be so in sync we could finish each others sentences. I was a beard for a long time and we made the same agreement to hook up and have a kid if we were unavailable by 35 but i cant make a kid or have that kind of relationship with someone who JUST loves me like a friend. Call me crazy but i need a guy to at leasy pretend to love me romantically before i make a commitment to share a kid. She could have went to a sperm back but is fiction so its ok. Good to see John Hamm better have working and writing but I could never do that.

Not really very good.

I was happily surprised that this was not the standard romantic comedy. Absent the awkward morality, it is sweet and has some cute moments. Not great, by any means, but a cut above most of the current crop.

Did not like the morals and message of this movie at all. Very materialistic, self serving portrayal of parents.

A cute story about best friends who find love with each other, only after having a kid together. I haven't seen any of Jennifer Westfeldt's work, but I have to say I really liked her in this movie. She is a breath of fresh air, and really like her girly, sweet, and funny portrayal of this character. She wrote and directed this film--I'm impressed. And I must say I really loved Adam Scott's character's speech about how he couldn't have chosen a better woman (Westfeldt) to be the mother of his child. It was so loving, sweet, and honest, and how I think every woman should want the father of their child(ren) to feel about them, whether they're together or not. Sweet movie.

It took me a while to get into the movie. It seemed stupid at first, but then the movie ended up being a nice romantic chic flick about relationships.

You think that we don't love each other? You know, I have loved this girl for nineteen years, Ben. That is fully half my life. I know everything there is to know about her. I know the mood she's in when she wakes up in the morning - always happy, ready for the day. Can you imagine? I know that she is honest; she won't even take the little shampoo bottles from the hotel room, or sneak into the movie theater for a double feature. She always buys a second ticket. Always. I know that we have the same values, we have the same taste, we have the same sense of humor. I know that we both think that organized religion is completely full of shit. I know that if she is ever paralyzed from the neck down, she would like me to unplug her - and I will. I know her position on just about everything, and I am on board. I am on board with everything about her, so you tell me, Ben. What better woman could I have picked to be the mother of my child?
