Like the other reviewer, I also found this CD to be surprisingly good. There is real continuity with their music from the '80s, with the advantage of first-rate modern recording technology. The sound quality is superior to their previous recordings, and some of the songs would be top-forty hits had this been released shortly after their last album "Door to Door." These days you may not hear on the radio new releases from classic rock bands like The Cars, but that has more to do with radio formats, and not with the quality of what these bands are putting out. Consequently, gems like this may be overlooked.
Surprisingly enjoyable. It is like a piece of the 80's now. Some very catchy songs with that same Cars sound. Probably only a few of the songs would rank up there with the classics but it is enough to enjoy the album. Worth listening to if you are already a Cars fan.
I may be partial since they were one of the first bands I liked way back in grade school (yes the 70s) but this is one of my favorite albums so far this year. Some bits do sound borrowed (I caught melodies from lesser known songs off cult albums like "Panorama") but I would rank it better than their pre-hiatus album "Door to Door."
