Part 1 begins as Harry, Ron, and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort's immortality and destruction - the Horcruxes. On their own, without the guidance of their professors or the protection of Professor Dumbledore, the three friends must now rely on one another more than ever. But there are dark forces in their midst that threaten to tear them apart. Harry's only hope is to find the Horcruxes before Voldemort finds him.

What an awful movie. You need to be a real lover of the Harry Potter universe to think this thing shines in the slightest - the plot barely advances and the whole thing might have been more brilliantly done in 1/2 an hour. The acting was wooden and it was a whole lotta nothin' going on.

not my favourite. some parts good (like chase at beginning), but other parts dull and seem to go on forever. definitly not as good as part 2

BEWARE! SPOILER ALERT! For all that have not read the Deathly Hallows, do NOT read this comment! If you do, you will be mentally exhausted (just joking about the mentally exhausting part!) Voldemort is finally killed by his own Avada Kedavra Killing curse being pushed back into himself by Harry's Expelliarmus charm. Also, Harry finds he is actually one of the Horcruxes and that when Voldemort uses a Killing curse on Harry, Harry is still alive, but the piece of Voldemort's soul is gone from Harry. Also, Harry finds out that he is a distant descendent of the 3rd brother from the Tale of the 3 Brothers, therefore inheriting the one true Invisibility Cloak that cannot be charmed or summoned. There! I am done this long spoiling comment!

I'm a huge fan, read all the books, thought they were absolutely fabulous. I actually haven't seen all the movies so, look forward to having a Harry Potter catch up marathon with my friend's DVDs. I sure hope they are as good as the books, or else it would have been a huge disappointment .

Rumor has it part two has a shock ending of Harry betraying everyone and swearing allegiance to Lord Voldemort. Didn't see that one coming, did you?

An outstanding first half to the final part of the series, well worth seeing.
