I loved this book! It's a rambling saga of friends and family that spans many, many years.
I'm looking forward to reading everything this author writes.

This novel, Roses, is excellent. It's about Mary, who inherits her father's farm after he passes away and she sacrifices everything for the farm including giving up the man she loves--Percy Warrick. The author, Leila Meacham has written a great book and I highly recommend it! Five stars!

This is what I would consider an epic novel. It spans four generations of three wealthy Texas families. The novel begins in present day, while the main characters are old and one is dying. From the beginning of the novel, you're prepared for a huge secret, which the author conceals well until the time is right for the reader to know what the secret is, and the impact it has on the characters. This novel is the epitome of a historical drama - war, romance and tragedy abounds.

A very enjoyable read, but I'm glad I read Somerset first. It helped me to understand the characters and situations easier.

A big epic story about three different characters. A little heart breaking at times but if you like to sink your teeth into a big story, you will like this.

Passion, secrets and a family curse lie at the heart of this sumptious novel. A must for readers who enjoy romantic, multigenerational sagas.

A compelling read. The characters were well developed and the story moved at a good pace.

I did find something a little cliché about the way it all sort of fit together in the end.

Overall, I liked this book and would recommend.
