Add a SummaryPenelope and Persephone are twin girls about to begin their first season in London. While Pen can barely contain her excitement, Persy would much rather stay home and continue to study magic. When their governess and magic tutor, Miss Allardyce, mysteriously disappears, the twins quickly discover that their position as young ladies in society keeps them from being able to search for her. Soon their younger brother Charles (better known as Chucklehead to the twins) and their neighbor Lochinvar, who turns Persy into a stammering fool, have joined forces with the twins. As the search continues, the twins discover that Miss Allardyce has been kidnapped as part of a magical plot against the Princess Victoria and it is up to them to save the day. A delightful romp, Bewitching Season combines historical fiction, fantasy, romance and mystery into one delectable whole.

Magic or Marriage?
Twins Persephone and Penelope Leland are anticipating their first London season with mixed feelings. Pen can't wait to flirt with handsome young men at parties, but Persy would far rather stay home and continue her magic studies. When the twins discover that their governess has been kidnapped as part of a dastardly plot to enchant the soon-to-be-queen, they're determined to find and save them both. Along the way, Persy learns that a good lady's maid is hard to find, that one should never cast a love spell on anyone after drinking too much brandy punch at a party, that pesky little brothers can sometimes come in handy, and that husband hunting isn't such an odious task after all, if you can find the right quarry.

Add a CommentA little on the predictable side, but an easy read. The glimpse of the time period makes it exciting, but the way the magic works is a little confusing.
Not a bad read, but lighter on the magic portion than was expected
This book was awesome!! Romance and magic and history, all my favourite themes! i cant wait till they get the sequel!!!!!!
This book was so good! It was romantic and exciting and funny! I absolutely loved it! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes magic, adventure, and romance! :)
a great teen read...or light adult read. Family (the good, the annoying, the misunderstandings), adventure, mystery and royalty. Greed and honour, humour and confilct. Well written and engaging (my biggest gauges for a good book).
really enjoyed the book..it took longer than expected to get through it..i can usually finish a book of this length in 2 maybe 3 days and it took me almost 3 weeks to finish it..it got kinda boring in some parts but then it would pick up and i would get really into it..definately want to read the Betraying Season to see if it is as good as this one was..
I loved it, the humor, the magic and of course chuckles. I did think that if they had add a bit of mystery it would have bin a more enjoyable.
But i enjoyed non the less.
This is the wrong picture of the book. The cover shown here is for betraying season NOT bewtiching season!
Anyways, this book was mediocre. Though I found myself often bored. The plot moves very slowly and though it is a very good premise for a novel, it is much too predictable and slow.
