This was a book I had been eyeing and looking forward to for quite some time. I found the plot refreshingly original, slow paced but enjoyable, and that Pilar and Loup were a great representation for queer couples.

This book is gorgeous. Carey's writing is both intimate and lyrical, and the plot is unique and creative. I'm very pleased that I picked this one off the shelf.

It's a reasonably good book, although the plot is nowhere near as unstoppable as the Kushiel books. Actually, Olivia compares unfavorably with the Hunger Games. True, this book gives you a fair amount more steamy scenes - though nothing gets as naughty as Kushiel's Phedre.

Yes, I will look up the sequel(s) but I would not buy these.

Although this book is not as lengthy as most of Carey's books (Carey can write 800 pagers that read like 200 pagers) - it flows just as beautifully.
