A true artifact of its time, this 1991 lushly painted limited series (in the vein of Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's Black Orchid) attempted to rejuvenate an obscure comics character by tying him to the occult DC universe. Morrison's cosmology incorporates his idiosyncratic take on the eternal conflict between Chaos and Order, but the confusing story lacks any life.
