A well-written and entertaining book. The cover art is somewhat misleading; this book is definitely written for children, though adults will also enjoy the author's subtle humor.

Some very strange things are happening in London, England. A wooly mammoth (long extinct) has been sighted near the Thames River. A city bus – and its passengers – have disappeared without a trace. Even time is behaving very strangely … sometimes it speeds up; sometimes it slows down. Is the “Timekeeper” – an old and mysterious clock – responsible? If so, who is controlling the clock, and why?
