"The World Must Know by Michael Berenbaum is a skillfully organized and clearly told account of the German Holocaust that consumed, with unparalleled malevolence, six million Jews and millions of innocent others--Protestants, Catholics, Poles, Russians, Gypsies, the handicapped, and so many others, adults and children. This important book, a vital guide through the unique corridors of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., merits the widest of audiences."--Chaim Potok, author of The Chosen and The Promise

The World Must Know documents the compelling human stories of the Holocaust as told in the renowned permanent exhibition of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. Drawing on the museum's extensive collection of artifacts, archives, and eyewitness testimonies, and augmented with more than two hundred period photographs, this book serves as an enduring reminder of the moral obligations of societies and individuals.

This revised edition is enhanced with new insights and updates based on archival information that had been inaccessible to researchers until after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the Communist regimes of Eastern and Central Europe. It includes new photographs, redrawn charts, a new section on the Holocaust in Greece, an updated bibliography, and a new foreword by the museum director.

This book in necessary to have in our libraries. it lets us know what a country did to a large group of people which was totally wrong. It is my opinion that the Nazis since it is common knowledge that they delivered crystal meth that by looking at the pictures it is obvious that the Germany Nazis used it to keep from feeding the prisoners. The army would need the food and they would give the prisoners meth to keep the paranoid and starve them making it easier to ,manage them when they where in the prisons. hard book to look and read due to the subject matter checked out read alittle and had to return it generates a lot of anger within me because of the treatment of other humans that was totally wrong. Our own government here in the USA is doing the same by trying to fulfill the prophecies of the Bible. In Psalms it talks about smoking the hides of swine and Hilter did that to the Jews by cutting their skin and smoking it to make shoes, handbags and lampshades. A horrible crime against humanity. I am grateful that my own grandfather made it back from that war because he was taking prisoner by the Nazis and kept in an encampment which basically destroyed him as a man . Rest in Peace my grandfather Victor G White. Our own government is using Hilter and Nazi ideas by blaming their problems on the poor and homeless that they them selves have created. They even used the news in 2000s to tell the citizens by blasting the group who was finacing the people in the Mid East calling them terrorist which lead to an attack to ever nation financial institution world wide Why 9isn't all my comments public I have shard all my books and made comments on all of them they ae not suppose to be private
