Apocalyptic settings seem to be a new staple in SF. I was challenged by Delany in his work "Stars in my pocket like grains of sand". I very much appreciate this being an avid SF reader. This is a work very much worth your time and enjoyment. Not for the socially timid. A great work.
This is supposedly a classic and a progressive book in sexuality and gender topics. However, I found the use of pronouns to be distracting, no matter the good intentions, and I was more interested in the prologue than the rest of the four hundred page book.
