This is a relatively slow moving story with a rather unbelievable premise. I could live with that, but I just couldn't bear hearing the narrator massacre the French language any longer. Maybe she was just trying to mimic how badly Temperance speaks French (in which case, she did an admirable job), but it set my teeth on edge every time. And the narrator's "French accent" sounds more like everyone in Quebec is related Count Chockula!

If the plot had been better, I might have been able to tough it out. But if you have had *any* contact with the French language, I suggest you skip this audio book and go for the printed version.
