After reading Mieville's shudder-provoking short stories you may well find yourself to be a tad more leery around those everyday objects that, seemingly, don't pose a threat. What harm could come from a crumpled bit of paper or a compact mirror? That's absurd, yet... I'll just put them in the other room for now.
