Author Pamela Kane is a seasoned cruise traveller, and her experience is very evident in HAPPY SAILS. Full of tips and tricks for both first-time and experienced cruisers, the book is written in a light, conversational tone and includes plenty of personal anecdotes. The chapter on packing is (unintentionally) hilarious in the eyes of anyone who tends to pack light: like Martha Stewart on uppers, Kane gives minutely detailled instructions on what to pack, how to fold and organize clothing, the number and size of bags required, and even how to avoid forgetting things at the last minute. A quick and worthwile read.
