This lawyer turned food writer presents short items from his culinary columns for Vogue magazine. He describes forays into the world of gastronomic delight with wit and humour, but he is dead serious about food, his passion. As he searches for the best of everything—chefs, products, recipes—he can find himself in some very interesting situations. Each piece presents a new revelation. Some recipes included but a few too complicated to contemplate.

Jeffrey Steingarten (most will know him as the sour faced judge on Iron Chef America) might surprise some with the things he'll try (and the things he won't) in his quest to eat everything. Despite his grumbly TV persona, Steingarten is witty and light hearted in this book, which is a sort of sequel to his "The Man Who Ate Everything". Follow Steingarten through his maze of epicurious delights and mishaps and you'll find yourself vowing to try a few of his experiments for yourself.
