The first book in the Jordan Lacey series is a page-turner. Plenty of interesting characters, suspects, and situations in a small British coastal location where former WPC, Lacey, now plies her trade as a private eye. Her police force connection gets her caught up in a murdered nun investigation, while trying to solve several of her own private cases, an elderly woman receiving vicious hate mail, a lost pet, and a father seeking his runaway son. Everything comes together in the last 20 pages as usual, of course, but not before Jordan escapes several scrapes. Well done!
