Book 4 of the Lords of the Underworld series, preceded by The Darkest Pleasure and followed by the Darkest Passion. Sexy story of Sabin, the keeper of Doubt and Gwen, the harpy. The story continues with the lords looking for the artifacts, but what they find is a breeding experiment - Halfling children bred to aid the Hunters. Gwen is set free from her prison by the lords and taken under Sabin's wing. In this story we meet Gwen's 3 harpy sisters - Bianka, Kaia and Taliyah Skyhawk, and learn how Gwen is related to Galen. I am re-reading all the books & I think I found something unexpected in this one - where Torin is debating about Cameo, he looks at his monitors and finds himself attracted to a black-haired beauty with pointed ears and a t-shirt that says "Nixie's IAD House O'Fun" (IAD- Immortal After Dark) - Could it be some connection to our favourite series by Kresley Cole?

This book took me for a ride, made me laugh, I was rooting for the characters and I fell in love. I felt like I was right there with them. I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait for Aeron's book, coming up next.

The warriors find an underground lab where their enemies, the Hunters, have taken captive other supernatural female creatures where they have raped and bred them to create a new powerful race. One special creature, Gwen, is a harpy who longs to see her sisters again. She is so afraid because when she becomes too emotional, she can't control her inner harpy and then causes destruction wherever she goes. When Sabin rescues her, she tried to stay away from him because there is something about this sexy, brooding male that makes her want him. If only she could ignore the nagging voice in her head who makes he doubt her worth.

Sabin wants to protect Gwen, even though she tries to escape him. He believes that Gwen can help him and his brothers in the fight against the Hunters. If only he can keep Doubt away from her, then perhaps he can keep Gwen forever. If he can keep Doubt under control than may be she can see how good he is inside even though he thinks he is too deadly and so very wrong for her.
