A shocking crime...An explosive trial...An electrifying novel of suspense...A young girl's disappearance leads defense attorney Luke Garrison to suspect something far more disturbing than an open-and-shut case of abduction and murder--a crime so shocking it will tear one family apart...and divide one town against itself.

This was the first Freedman book I picked up, and what a page turner! A young fourteen year old girl is carried out of her parents house during a sleep over that she is hosting. When her body is later found, the suspect list shrinks down to one person. A friend of the family! Add to this the media frenzy that follows, and you have a story that hits very close to reality.
