When I suggested this book for purchase I did wonder what could be left to say about the Bloomsbury group. What this work contains is the most beautiful photographs of Charleston - house and garden (just as the title suggests). With the addition of reproductions of varies art work, this book is a joy. Unfortunately I will have to return it to the library so someone else can take a turn being captivated. What did I learn from it? That the people who lived here were very very lucky, and that they created such a beautiful environment. I only wish it had been me, but I know I would have been one of the servants they continually complained about!
