Can a book really change your life? The title is a bit tongue in cheek, referencing both self-help books and those ridiculous books that are something like "Business Lessons from the Art of War" or "Jesus in the Boardroom." Swiss writer/philosopher Alain de Botton, who founded the School of Life, plucks life lessons from Marcel Proust, the French writer, whose "In Search of Lost Time" is one of the longest books ever written. Chapter titles include "How to be Happy in Love," "How to Suffer Successfully," and "How to Put Books Down." You'll probably want to be familiar with Proust before picking this up.
