For a survivor of the AIDS epidemic and one who held the hands of many friends as they died, this book was a transformation: the most realistic and powerful portrayl of the experience in its BEAUTY. Rebecca's writing is a joy -- she leads you into the depths of the experience of a caretaker and into compassion for those wasting with the diseas in the '80's. With many local points of reference, if felt to me as if i were living the book...
