The Only Snow in Havana is a personal reflection about Canadian identity, a poetic history about snow and fur, and a travel book about origins. Stories about the fur trade weave together with memories of feeling trapped, in a book which is as much about the play of language and ideas as it is about love and rood104

I read this after Late Nights on Air. It is interesting to see Hay's writing style evolve, and yet retain a distinct voice. Loved the description of returning home to Canada from Mexico. Hay's writing reminds me of what make Canada a wonderful place to live.
