Really enjoyed this book. Full disclosure, I am a fan of Jennifer Weiner and have read all her books, but that said, I think this one is one of her best. Characters are interesting, relatable and likable. I like the subtext of this story being about how others expectations influence our life choices and whether that leads to a happy and fulfilled life. My one issue, that may be a positive for another reader, is that the book has a sort of Forest Gump quality, where these characters seem to experience every touchstone moment of their generation.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found I couldn't put it down. I was a young girl myself during that same period time so related to many parts of it. Also very enlightening.

This is my first Jennifer Weiner book, and I loved it. Good writing and important topics are addressed. I was hesitant to start it at first because I've grown tired of reading / hearing / seeing stories from an American perspective, but I am glad that I did. Many of the issues the characters face are "of their time", but transcend nationalist differences.

Have loved every single one of Jennifer Weiner’s other books, this one not so much. Got to page 150 and gave up. The beginning moved along okay, but then it got too wordy. Maybe did not give it a chance, but was disappointed.

It took a little effort to get into this book, then I couldn't put it down, and read it in one afternoon and evening. The book sisters and my real life oldest sisters are the same age. Chapters alternate the first person point of view between sisters. It's well written, parts are laugh out loud funny, SPOILER! has happy endings.

I just finished this one on audio a few days back. My first intro into Jennifer Weiner's writing, and boy am I happy that I listened to it. I found myself really relating to the story, maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have two younger sisters myself and some of the stuff in the book, is almost like Jennifer reading my and my sister's minds and creating a story out of it? I don't know. But it was so touching in so many ways and just reminded me of what my mother has said many times, that after she goes, the only family the 3 of us are going to have, are each other.

Could not put this book down! Having lived during the years of the story, it was very well written and I felt like I was there as a witness. The story takes us along the lives of a family dealing with trauma on so many levels. Following the growth of modern feminism, women's expectations at home and in work, this story helps us to feel what it was like to be a women during the 1950's through today. Weiner is really a wonderful storyteller.

I normally love Jennifer Weiner's books, but this one just left me cold. Couldn't get into the characters at all, and that's usually a strong point for her. Very disappointed.

I was so exited to read Jennifer Weiner's new novel and was thrilled that it was a Peak Pick. I was disappointed to discover what a big, rambling mess it is. The story was scattered and not cohesive as a reader would have enjoyed. I also found this book very shallow, simplistic, hard to connect with and nonsensical in some parts. The # Me Too stuff at the end seemed rushed and tacked on.

I read a lot of reviews that raved about this book. I am glad that others enjoyed it.
