Beautiful book. Vibrant? Yes. Simple? No. All of the recipes call for a level of planning and ingredient sourcing beyond my capacity. Except for an actually simple recipe for avocado mayo in the back of the book; I copied that one down. While I won't attempt the rest of the recipes, I'd certainly try all of them if someone else made them. And reading through the ingredients, I did find some inspiration for new vegetable and flavor pairings I can use in everyday cooking. Overall, not a practical cookbook, but pretty to look at.

This is more a photography source book to make Instagramable posts of your dinner than a cookbook to make something you'd actually eat. It IS vibrant, but hardly simple or for that matter approachable with a normal palate. Kassoff has a penchant for pairing fruit with savory flavors. As an occasional well thought out pairing this can be wonderful (e.g. a Waldorf Salad), but as a primary motif throughout the book, it smacks more of bringing in visual appeal rather than bringing in flavor appeal. If you're looking to impress your social media circle, this is the book for you. However, if you're looking for good tasting recipes stick with the 20% or so of her more traditional recipes.
