Victory comes at a price. Mare Barrow learned this all too well when Cal's betrayal nearly destroyed her. Now determined to protect her heart--and secure freedom for Reds and newbloods like her--Mare resolves to overthrow the kingdom of Norta once and for all ... starting with the crown on Maven's head. But no battle is won alone, and before the Reds may rise as one, Mare must side with the boy who broke her heart in order to defeat the boy who almost broke her. Cal's powerful Silver allies, alongside Mare and the Scarlet Guard, prove a formidable force. But Maven is driven by an obsession so deep, he will stop at nothing to have Mare as his own again, even if it means destroying everything--and everyone--in his path. War is coming, and all Mare has fought for hangs in the balance. Will victory be enough to topple the Silver kingdoms? Or will the little lightning girl be forever silenced? In the epic conclusion to Victoria Aveyard's stunning series, Mare must embrace her fate and summon all her power ... for all will be tested, but not all will survive.

This series was really amazing. I loved the book WarStorm. My all time favorite characters are Cal and Mare. I just wish that the ending was Cal and Mare getting together rather than going away from each other.

I wasn’t as heartbroken at the end as I feared I’d be. I really do enjoy this series. The characters really make you feel. Despite the amount of time it took me to finish, you do always want to keep reading. My biggest problem possibly comes from the fact that I listened rather than read, but it bothered me when she ended certain chapters in a way that seemed like the book could be ending. All in all, I’d definitely recommend it.

The story was a bit slow in the beginning, but it got better when Mare and Cal forgave each other. I didn't really like the ending, even though it says "I will go back to him", they don't actually get together in the end and I found that upsetting. On the bright side, at least she decided to get back with him. Awesome book!

Okay, so I was super excited for this book. I had just randomly picked the first book of the series off the shelf because I saw War Storm displayed in the 'newly purchased by the library section' I read the first book and was immediately hooked. The first book was great, the second book was just as good, and the third book was good on my scale, but not as good as the first two. This book, however, made me almost want to DNF. It was only my hope for the ending that made me continue on. In the third book, one of the only things that helped with the multiple perspectives thing (which I wasn't prepared for, and was a surprising turn) was that it was from two perspectives, and only for the purposes of knowing what was happening out in the world because Mare had been imprisoned. (It also helped that the other POV was from the perspective of my absolute FAVORITE character). In War Storm, the POV jumps all over the place. It also wasn't very entertaining. Every single chapter from Iris' POV made me want to fall asleep. Aveyard put too much political intrigue into this book, which made it, at some points, a major snooze-fest. Also, everyone who hates the ending, know that I believe it was a randomly thrown together ending on purpose. Victoria Aveyard has been writing these books and these characters for a long time. Her ending was set up so that she could likely write more novellas about the change in her world, which, although is a brilliant business strategy, isn't the best for readers who JUST WANT TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENS! Although I loved the series up until now, this book certainly lowered the Red Queen books on my book rating list. Red Queen would have been better off a trilogy, and condensed into 3 books. (Also, I would have liked to see more of Cameron. I don't like how in King's Cage, she really just disappeared after she found her brother. She only has 1 scene in War Storm, which disappoints me)

Im going to be honest I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I mean dont get me wrong the ending was very well put together but I just think it was a bit rushed like it feels like it wasnt the real ending to the book. I am also disappointed that War Storm is the last book. I wanna know how Norta gets rebuilt I wanna know what will happen to Mare and Cal. I was very upset that Maven was killed. He was my favorite. I wanna know what will happen to Evangiline and Elane. I dont know, the book series just feels unfinished. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS. Other than that I think it was a really good book, very well put together and there is legitimate emotion to it. I just love the books and Victoria Aveyards style of writing and her topics she writes about.

An epic end to the series. I feel like War Storm started off a bit slow but it didn't take long for me to become hooked and I really enjoyed how we saw the point of view of most characters, including the supposed villains. Overall, it ended really well and I loved the series. Definitely worth a read.

*SPOILERS*

I really liked how in the end, it wasn't centred entirely on Cal and Mare's romance and that yes they did have a romance in the end that was hinted but it wasn't all that they lived happily ever after. I liked that he was affected by Mare killing Maven even though it was in self-defense since in the end it was his little brother. I really pitied Maven but part of me knew that he was not going to be able to be redeemed and I like that he was not redeemed because that was the way I feel it was meant to go. I also really loved the last sentence where her love for everyone is symbolised with the earrings.

I am in love with how perfect the murder scenes are because I think it is a very hard skill to be able to write a kill scene with the exact amount of gruesome and immaculate measurements of description or else the reader will be too grossed out, or won;t understand what's happening. A STANDING OVATIONNN!!!
