Another work by Rei Toma. In comparison to it's predecessor, Dawn of the Arcana, this series seems a little more cute and easier to get into: it seems more focused and has a stronger identity. The story is about a little girl from modern Japan who is sucked into a pond and dragged what may be centuries into the past, into a more feudal Japan. But there is one important addition: in this feudal Japan, where in some places human sacrifice is believed to bring good harvest and health, the guardian spirits or gods of the elements DO react to the sacrifices, more out of intrigue though. The spirit of water does not understand humans, which makes up for a large part of the future potential for plot as he discovers about the young modern day girl who is his bride.
This summary is of book one. I am looking forward to book two.
