This is another good collection of SF short stories, I felt like some of them could be turned into novels. Every story starts with the first line of a famous work, and sometimes the story bears a resemblance to the original, sometimes it goes in a completely different direction. If you want something similar to this, try Live Without a Net (short stories about worlds without computers or the internet) and Machine of Death (short stories about people who know how they will die and how it affects them).
