Not only is Brandon McMillian, a self-made, celebrity star of CBS’s “Lucky Dog”, and author of his new book, LUCKY DOG LESSONS, he expresses an authentic passion for rescuing, unwanted shelter dogs. These dogs, under his guidance, are transformed into well-mannered pets in just 7 days. McMillian’s philosophy “is the that no dog is beyond saving”. Just like on his Saturday morning CBS television show, the author writes about his choices of shelter dogs, and correction of ill behavior turning them into to an ideal pet to be given away to some lucky person or family. The author further explains that obedience is based on the breed and temperament of the dog. Also, he suggests dogs should be well grounded in the 7 basic commands: sitting, down, stay, no, off, come, & heeling. But I particular liked this book on training basics as it looks so easy. I did used some of suggested techniques to handle excessive barking. But everyone knows that it takes lots of repetition, time, and patience to train a dog. Hopefully, I am turning my pet into a happy, lucky pet using the knowledge I read in LUCKY LESSONS.
