This book felt young for me, but I can see it being a really thought provoking, enjoyable, and a good story to relate to for kids grade 3-6.

This graphic novel could be very challenging for some kids to read. Though, the social issues and anxiety create empathy for the main character - Shannon. Shannon tries to navigate the social hierarchies of the playground at her elementary…

Honestly, I hate this book. The feel of this book is more depressing than letting kids know they are not alone. I didn't like any of the characters, and I just found it boring. (This is just my opinion, please don't hate me!)

This book is awesome. I love graphic novels and this is one of my favorites. I love how the author tells her story in a book. I didn't realize this but in the book Shannon wanted to be a writer and here we are. Five stars! well done!

An excellent graphic novel memoir about the horrors of middle school, and trying to fit in. I really felt this one, as I too had trouble conforming to the changes of middle school grades and whatever was expected by people who were your…

My 9 year old recommended it to me. He enjoyed it a lot and I, his 50 year old mother did, too. I don't think he related to it much--happily his school isn't really this vibe but boy as a child of the '70s I related to it heavily. So…

A very good story, aimed at the grade school audience. I appreciate the attempt and I did enjoy what I read, but I do wish it has a bit more to the ending. This memoir would be compelling as a series, following Shannon through the years.

Great writing & illustrations! This book is based on author Shannon Hale's childhood. I enjoyed the 1980's pop culture references and was interested in the Salt Lake City Mormon-influenced setting. The book shows the trials and…

Its a really good graphic novel about a girl names shannon who's life is like a roller coaster going up and down. I really liked this book because Wendy, Shannon's sister, is sort of like her.

Good graphic novel. It illustrated one of the things that is wrong with yesterday's millennials and today's youth. Perfect to get that point across to them. Something for society to ponder.
