This 10th entry in the internationally best-selling and universally acclaimed No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series finds Precious Ramostwe devoting her extraordinary sleuthing skills to the unfamiliar task of helping herself. When she asks her husband Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni to fix her tiny, white van, Precious fears he might just sell the vehicle and buy her something more modern -- which he promptly does. Since this will simply not do, Precious sets to tracking the vehicle down, only to learn that it has already been stolen from its new owner. Recovery of the van is further hampered by a growing case list at the agency, as -- in the midst of an epic losing streak -- the proprietor of a local football team suspects he may have a traitor in the ranks. All is not well in the sun-baked reaches of Botswana. But there are a few problems that can't be solved when Precious, steaming mug of tea in hand, takes up the cause.
