Add a CommentI don't think this is a good movie
Not a bad movie. Harrelson is a good actor, but the film is similar to "Bad Lieutenant" with Harvey Keitel in the title role. The lighting is at times distracting and dim and prevents you from connecting with the characters.
A well crafted film, with excellent character developement. Harrelson is an underrated actor. He shines in this tale.
Well acted but I wish I had that two hours back. Big waste of time
skip it.
very good
Watched on Netflix Instant. Same old story about a cop gone bad. Nothing could save this movie a total waste of time.
An underwhelming glimpse at Harrelson as an imploding, nonconformist loose cannon on the LAPD. Unoriginal, uninspiring, forgettable movie with a lousy ending. ½ star for Ned Beatty.
This is truly a riveting movie! It follows the life of a troubled cop named Dave Brown, nicknamed "Date-rape Dave" (Woody Harrelson) who refuses to accept responsibility for his actions of murder, police brutality, racism, sexism, and bigotry, what's more he celebrates these actions. But soon those actions start to haunt him in the end, as he faces severed ties with his family and friends. Truly recommended but only for adults!
For adults only! This is a gem I never heard of before seeing this copy at the library. A police officer, possibly completely screwed up by Vietnam, performs vicious, vindictive, scurrilous acts, often while in a rage. He performs the acts with a sense of righteousness. Late in the movie, he finds the truth, that by destroying his life, he actually ruins the lives around those that love him. Some truly outstandingly creative camerawork. A truly great portrait of what hell might look like if it occurred here on this earth.
