A superb read from start to finish. Every single word counts .
I usually like Val McDermid's books. But this....??? Awful. Maybe she had a ghost writer.
Have to agree with everyone else on this one. Disappointing, predictable and cliched.
So bad-don't bother. Val McDermid used to be terrific but her book before this one and now with The Vanishing Point, she seems to have lost her touch and is churning out mediocre boring so called mysteries. McDermid will be vanishing off my fav. mystery writers list.
Disappointing book. Unbelievable characters and poor plot.
Not one of her better books. The way it is told -- all the backstory apparently told in a lengthy (five hour?) interview with the FBI after the child has been abducted -- very unrealistic. Also the "solution" was telegraphed from the beginning.
