Add a CommentEnjoyable but not one of the best Sookie books. Somewhat lacking in the romance department, which is one of the things I normally enjoy about the series, but a few good twists in the mysteries.
The most enjoyable for me of the series. I mean Sookie is still a slut, but this was a very enjoyable read. Like others here, I look forward to more of Quinn (and Claudine for that matter) though I'm sure it won't be long for her to have his pants on the floor.
Guilty pleasure. Far from prize-winning writing, but easy, delicious reading.
An enjoyable and quick read. Harris develops the world of the shapeshifters and the werewolves and introduces a new love interest for Sookie -
While still a fun and quick read, I wasn't overly impressed with Dead as a Doornail. It felt like a filler novel to me. Despite the suspense of finding a sniper taking aim at the shifter population, all of the other action just seemed disjointed to me. Also, I counted six potential suitors for Sookie in this novel alone. Seriously? But, as I mentioned, it is a fun and quick read - perfect for my long bus ride home from work each day.
Too much words, not enough story foe me. Can we just pick a storyline and expand on that one, please? Still worth reading if you "gotta read them all!" otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.
The book felt like a middle section to a larger story without any purpose for it on its own. There were many small stories, but none were given enough focus, such as Jason turning into a werepanther, the selection of a new packmaster, even the primary story of the shooter was resolved too quickly. The characters are interesting, but if there was more time spent on a few, rather than having so many involved in the story, it might be a better story. Overall, the weakest of the stories so far.
Too much re-hash of characters and previous events and not enough ACTION!!!
What can I say? Still reading...
